PROTECTING THE INTERESTS OF CRAFT BREWERS IN MASSACHUSETTS

In 2007, Massachusetts brewers came together to form the Massachusetts Brewers Guild (MBG) for the purposes of promoting craft brewing and protecting the interests of craft brewers in Massachusetts.

The membership based association is open to all Massachusetts breweries licensed by the federal Tax and Trade Bureau and the Commonwealth’s Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission and is a 501(c)(6) non-profit corporation.

At the time the MBG was formed there were only 34 brewing licenses issued in the state. Today, there are more than 200 operating breweries across the Commonwealth including brewpubs, farm-breweries, and manufacturers.

The Mass Brewers Guild is the state’s non-profit, trade association, that exists to protect and promote the brewing community.

What does the Mass Brewers Guild do?

  • We serve as the unified voice on Beacon Hill, advocating for our breweries at the legislative level. We currently have two legislative priorities that we are fighting for - achieving self-distribution rights for our Brewpub license holders and working to gain retail privileges for our state’s breweries at Farmers Markets.

  • We provide free resources and educational opportunities to ensure that our breweries have everything they need to remain successful, independent, small businesses that employ locals and revitalize downtown communities

  • We serve as central command for questions, advice, and networking to help our brewing family stay connected and informed

  • We highlight MBG member breweries through regular social media and marketing articles, blogs and interviews to showcase and promote #MassMadeBeer

Please help us to continue to help our brewers. Any amount is appreciated!

Thank you to our generous donors & supporters:
